Cookie policy.
Effective 8 April 2026. This policy explains how gatekick.com uses cookies and similar technologies.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve efficiency, and to provide information to the operators of a site. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies), while others remain on your device until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (first party cookies) or by third party services that the website uses, such as analytics or security providers.
2. How we use cookies
Gatekick Labs Limited ("Gatekick Labs", "we", "us") uses a limited number of cookies on gatekick.com. We use cookies for two purposes.
- Security. Cloudflare sets cookies to protect our website from automated abuse and to verify that visitors are genuine users. These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of the site.
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to help us understand how visitors use our website, which pages are visited most often, and how users navigate through the site. This data helps us improve the experience for everyone.
We do not use any marketing cookies, retargeting cookies, or social media tracking pixels.
3. Types of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function correctly. They are used by Cloudflare to provide security, bot protection, and content delivery. Because they are strictly necessary, they do not require consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC) as transposed into Maltese law.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cf_clearance |
Cloudflare | Set after a visitor successfully completes a Cloudflare Turnstile challenge. Proves the visitor has passed the security check so they are not challenged again on subsequent requests. Used only on the contact page. | Up to 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
__cf_bm |
Cloudflare | Bot management cookie. Distinguishes between humans and automated bots to protect the website from malicious traffic. | 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
__cflb |
Cloudflare | Load balancing cookie used by Cloudflare CDN to route traffic efficiently and ensure consistent delivery of site content. | Session | Strictly necessary |
Analytics cookies
These cookies are set by Google Analytics 4 . They collect information about how visitors use our website in an aggregated and anonymised form. Under the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the ePrivacy Directive as transposed into Maltese law, analytics cookies require the prior consent of the visitor before they are set.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google (Analytics 4) | Assigns a randomly generated, unique identifier to each visitor. Used to distinguish between users and to calculate visitor, session, and campaign data for site analytics reports. | 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_* |
Google (Analytics 4) | Maintains session state for Google Analytics 4. Tracks page views and events within a single browsing session. | 2 years | Analytics |
_gid |
Google (Analytics 4) | Stores and updates a unique value for each page visited. Used to count and track pageviews. | 24 hours | Analytics |
4. Third party cookies
Some of the cookies described above are set by third party services, not by Gatekick Labs directly. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies that govern how they process data collected through their cookies.
- Google. Google Analytics 4 processes analytics data on behalf of Gatekick Labs. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare. Cloudflare provides security and content delivery services for gatekick.com. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We do not share cookie data with any other third parties, and we do not permit any third party to use cookies on our website for advertising or tracking purposes.
5. Your choices
You have several options for controlling or limiting how cookies are used on your device.
- Browser settings. Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can typically block all cookies, block only third party cookies, or delete cookies that have already been set. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
- Google Analytics opt out. Google provides a browser add on that allows you to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites. You can download it at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Do Not Track. Some browsers send a Do Not Track (DNT) signal to websites. There is currently no universal standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals.
For more information about cookies in general, including how to see which cookies have been set on your device and how to manage and delete them, visit allaboutcookies.org.
6. Consent
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (as transposed into Maltese law) and the GDPR, storing or accessing information on a visitor's device requires the visitor's prior informed consent, unless the cookie is strictly necessary for the provision of the service explicitly requested by the visitor.
Strictly necessary cookies, such as those used by Cloudflare for security and bot protection, are exempt from the consent requirement. Analytics cookies, such as those used by Google Analytics 4, are not strictly necessary and therefore require consent before they are set.
Important note. Gatekick Labs does not currently operate a cookie consent mechanism (also known as a cookie consent banner) on gatekick.com. We acknowledge that under the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive, prior consent is required before setting analytics cookies. We recommend that a compliant cookie consent mechanism be implemented as soon as practicable. Until such a mechanism is in place, visitors should be aware that Google Analytics cookies may be set when they visit the site.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or changes in our practices. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
8. Contact
